KEEPING PUBLIC ACCESS OPEN -in cooperation with the Olympic National Forest. Wynoochee Pass Road is proposed to be closed and extended as part of the Wynoochee Pass Trail in the upcoming final NEPA decision. We have been working with the Forest Service to keep it open. These photos are from last summer showing some nasty slide alder that we cleared, with hand tools, at the first section of road. We will be working on this road again this summer. The plan is to exchange road maintenance for extended access, as long as the road doesn't have a major failure or culvert malfunction. We have also been in talks to add more sections of road this year for "adopting".
